Role in the University

Dr Anastasis Petrou began working at the London Campus of the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David in 2021. His current role includes leading Research Methods Workshops, the E-Business Strategy module and other relevant Information Management, Strategy and Research instructional sessions as needed in the MBA and its pathways, such as the MBA Information Management.

In addition, he is a DBA Research Supervisor in the areas of Open Information Systems, Open Innovation, E-Business Strategy, Crisis Management, Digital Transformation, Information Acquisition and Strategic Information Policy. He invites collaborations on the above areas in using Quantitative and Qualitative Methodologies and Perspectives, although he would be keen on collaborations using Phenomenological approaches.


Dr Petrou has had a long career in leading Information Services, Disaster Recovery and Planning initiatives as well as the development of programmes and modules for Distance Learning. He earned a BSc in Economics, MA in Political Science, an MBA in Econometrics and Business Policy and a PhD in Information Science. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Academic Interests

Dr Petrou is keen to invite collaborations and PhD Students for research projects in such areas as Open Information Systems, Information Acquisition, Digital Transformation, Smart Cities and Crisis Management.

He is a stronger believer in continuing professional development and strives to remain current in a variety of research areas and emerging topics to be of value to his students and interested collaborators. He is also interested in models, theories and frameworks for Distance Learning and invites research students in any of the above-mentioned areas.

Dr Anastasis Petrou serves as consultant on academic projects and information technology processes and digital transformation activities in public agencies when opportunities avail themselves.
